Age Limit: Candidate age must between 20 to 24 years for Station Officer, Sub- Officer posts and 18 to 25 years for Fireman, Emergency Rescuer posts. Cut off Date for age determining would be 01-01-2012. (Age relaxations will be extended as per rules).
Educational Qualification:1.Fpr Station Officer Candidate must possess B.Sc. from recognized Board/Institution
2.Sub-Station Officer post, H.Sc. (Science) from recognized Board/Institution for Sub Officer post and H.Sc. (Science) pass or equivalent examination from recognized Board/Institution for Fireman, Emergency Rescuer posts. However, additional weightage during the interview will be given to the candidates having knowledge of swimming and diving.
Selection Procedure: Candidates will be selected on the basis of Written Test, Physical Measurement & Fitness Test and interview basis.
Physical test interview (All Categories):-
i. 1 mile race (1.6 Km) - Full Marks - 15
ii. 100 Meters sprint - Full Marks - 15
iii.Long Jump - Full Marks - 10
iv.High Jump - Full Marks - 10
Physical Standards for (All categories ):-
a. Height :- The minimum height for a candidate shall be 160 cm (5’ – 4”) but in case of candidates belonging to ST – (H) and ST – (P) the minimum height shall be 157.5 cm
(5’ – 3”).
b. Chest:-77.7 cm (31”) in normal position and 82.5cm (33”) in expansion.
Written test for the post of Station Officer and Sub- Officer :-
Paper - I, Physics Chemistry & mathematics Full Marks -100
Paper – II, English & General Studies Full Marks -100
Viva- Voce for the post of Station Officer and Sub- Officer Full Marks - 30
Oral test for the post of Fireman and Emergency Rescuer Full Marks - 10
How to Apply: Eligible candidate may submit their applications in Standard Form along with 3 (three) copies of recent passport size photographs one of which should be pasted on the application form with attested copies of Certificates to the Addl. Director General of Police Cum- Director of State Fire Service Organization, Assam, Panbazar, Guwahati – 1, personally or by ordinary post only on or before 14-12-2012.

(c) Certificate of extra- curricular activities (if any).
(d) Certificate of sports, game etc. (if any).
(e) Certificate of caste from the competent authority in respect of the candidates belonging to ST(P) / ST(H) / SC / OBC / MOBC.
(f) 3 (three) copies of recent passport size photographs with the name written on the back. One copy is to be affixed on the application form (Top right corner) and other copies kept in a small envelope duly tagged with the Form.
(g) For Station Officer / Sub- Officer only Mark Sheets of Subject proof.
(h) Certificate / proof of residence.
